The course, “Channel Glass Wall Systems: Enhancing Building Performance and Design” (AIA CES # AEC340), offers an in-depth review of the structural properties and design benefits of channel glass wall systems. It includes sections on performance, installation, current standards, and case studies of channel glass in LEED-certified installations

The course is available online as a self-study program, and can be accessed through www.bendheimwall.com and www.aecdaily.com/en/1609039.

“Since green building is becoming a standard in the industry, we launched this new program to offer valuable information about designing and building with channel glass, an incredibly sustainable product,” said Robert Jayson, President of Bendheim. “The program is designed with the assistance of Bendheim experts with extensive channel glass engineering and installation experience. We are eager to share our knowledge and experience with architects and designers.”

Bendheim Wall Systems’ Lamberts channel glass is translucent, U-shaped glass used to create sweeping walls of glass without the need for intermediate framing members. Reaching heights up to 23 feet, it is an ideal daylighting material and contains as much as 40 percent post-consumer recycled glass. Many award-winning projects feature striking Lamberts channel glass walls and elements; among them, The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art by Steven Holl and The Santa Monica Civic Center Parking Structure by Moore Ruble Yudell.
