Bendheim is pleased to announce our collaboration with Bart Halpern, introducing a new, exclusive collection of decorative architectural glass to the interior design market. The partnership brings together two leaders in the design industry to create a specialty glass exceptional quality and aesthetic appeal: The Bendheim Hospitality Collection combines Bart Halpern’s textiles with safety architectural glass to create luxury materials that subtly dramatize interiors.
Bendheim, the resource for specialty glass since 1927, is committed to developing new decorative glass technologies and pushing the aesthetic capabilities of architectural glass. Recent Bendheim R&D efforts, focused on industry trends in the hospitality, retail, and luxury residential design markets, revealed an unmet need for a new style of durable, easy to maintain, shimmering and rich surfaces. Having developed a prototype design aesthetic, Bendheim approached Bart Halpern, a leader in chic hospitality textiles, to manufacture the required metal-foil-like, refined fabric for glass lamination.
Bart Halpern has been helping luxury retail and hospitality brands define their environments with sumptuous contemporary-classic textiles. Halpern’s textiles are used by Armani, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Tiffany & Co, Marriott, MGM Grand, and Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, among others. The collaboration immediately revealed an opportunity to transform Halpern’s successful Glitterati textiles into a new line of safety building glass. Hence, the Bendheim Hospitality Collection by Bart Halpern debuts with several Glitterati textiles – champagne, gold, copper, silver, and black – laminated in Bendheim low-iron glass.
This partnership and new collection affirm Bendheim’s tradition in collaborating with design industry leaders to bring cutting-edge decorative glass to life. Previous design collaborations include Robert A.M. Stern Architects, eh Oui Metals of France, and KOVA Textiles. These partnerships have helped Bendheim build an extensive catalog of modern glass designs with elegance and timeless appeal.
